There are a lot of great reads on this list, but I have to say that the one that I hold highest is The Fracturing of Pennsylvania,” by Eliza Griswold (New York Times Magazine).  This a great read that I would recommend to anyone who is following this issue.

How To Create Paper Blossoms | Apartment Therapy DC –

Lately I have been feeling very, very stifled. While I love my job, and the people that I have met, I have not been making art. It may seem very silly to miss something so trivial in the fast pace world of consume and move on, but I feel that a safe release for creativity is necessary to the proper care and feeding of an activist.

This is because art grounds us, makes us more connected to our world, and to the world that we are looking to create. I have been making a listing of all of the things that I find that stir something within, and give me the itch to make something out of nothing. I found this article and I must say that  the only thing that is preventing me from attaching a willowy branch to my ceiling is the fact that my room is already cluttered with the remnants of  other art projects that I have to finish first. (The curtains that I have been promising my land lord for over a month now still sit quietly at the end of the room)

We shall see.

I very much enjoyed this article because I feel that when it comes to sustainability, this is in one of the areas that I need the most work. It is very east to fall back into the rut that is single use. The fact is, its simply easier. This is a truth, but not an excuse. I feel that there is very much that can be learned by becoming more sustainable because it causes you to think more about the choices that you are making on a day to day basis.

I think that this is a very well written article that would be of good use to any loved one who is feeling a bit burn out by the turn of events at Occupy NYC. While we need to keep strong, and keep the movement going, we also must remember to tend to ourselves. If we are strung out and lost, we will be of no help to anyone. Most of us diehard supporters have more than this movement occupying our lives, and have relationships with our loved ones to maintain.
